In the summer of 2023, writer David Clensy set off on a long walk – seeking to tackle the 93 miles of Wiltshire's White Horse Trail, joined in the adventure by his wide-eyed 10-year-old son, Charlie.
Walking the White Horses, a new work of narrative non-fiction, follows their progress as they make their way from horse to horse. The book takes the reader on a lyrical meander through the natural wonders of southern England's chalk downland environment, its people, heritage and wildlife.
On Saturday, January 27th, David Clensy will visit Trowbridge Museum, joined by Glyn Coy, local photographer, author of Hidden Wiltshire: From Above and Below and Hidden Wiltshire: From Near and Far, and presenter of the Hidden Wiltshire podcast. The event will see David and Glyn in conversation about how their books came out about, their shared interest in Wiltshire's hidden history and the challenges and pleasures of capturing the Wiltshire landscape in words and photographs.
Following the discussion, David and Glyn will sign copies of their books, which will be available to purchase on the day.
