Hailing from London, Paul "Shilts" Weimar discovered his passion for the saxophone in his early teens, marking the commencement of a remarkable 30-year musical journey. Throughout his illustrious career, he has effortlessly navigated the diverse realms of jazz, funk, soul, and pop, leaving an indelible mark on each.
At the age of 16, Paul turned professional, gracing nightclubs and providing backing for iconic American stars like The Temptations, Four Tops, Drifters, and Rose Royce. Seeking broader horizons, he embarked on a globe-trotting adventure, leaving his musical imprint in Hong Kong, the Middle East, Europe, and the Caribbean.
A stalwart on the London session scene, Paul contributed his saxophone skills to recordings with renowned artists such as David Bowie, Jimmy Page, Bill Wyman, Lulu, Conner Reeves, and Queen.
Recognised for his soulful and funky saxophone style, Paul joined the British Acid Jazz group, "The Brand New Heavies," in 1994. Beyond the studio and stage, he has graced the spotlight as a special guest with top Smooth Jazz artists like Rick Braun, Jeff Lorber, Paul Brown, and Peter White. Most recently, Paul has been a featured sax player with US guitar legend Larry Carlton.
As a perennial favourite on the jazz tour circuit, Paul's musical philosophy revolves around creating exceptional music while never losing sight of the sheer enjoyment it brings. His ethos encapsulates the belief that good music should always be synonymous with good fun.
