Celebrating the Life of Valerie Jackson: A Charity Event in Her Honour

Join us for a heartfelt evening as we remember Valerie Jackson, a vibrant and inspiring figure whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of everyone around her. After a courageous battle with cancer, Valerie passed away peacefully on August 10, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. This upcoming charity event is our way of honouring her legacy while raising funds for two important causes: Dorothy House and Bowel Cancer UK.

Valerie was more than just a family member; she was the heart and soul of our community. Her outgoing spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering support made her the go-to person for advice, a listening ear, and an endless source of encouragement. From small gestures to grand acts of kindness, Valerie had a remarkable ability to uplift those around her. She created a welcoming atmosphere where everyone felt valued and loved, a true testament to her compassionate nature.

Her journey began in November 2022 when she was diagnosed with a tumour in her colon. This diagnosis marked the start of a challenging chapter filled with major surgery, chemotherapy, and numerous hospital stays. Despite the obstacles, Valerie faced each moment with incredible strength and resilience, inspiring all who knew her with her determination and grace. Her ability to find joy even in the darkest times left a lasting impression on her family and friends.

In her honour, we successfully hosted our first charity event in March 2024, featuring The Full Motley, a band Valerie adored. That evening was a beautiful celebration of music, laughter, and cherished memories, encapsulating the joy she brought into our lives. The outpouring of love and support from the community was overwhelming, and due to popular demand, we are thrilled to announce our second charity event, scheduled for March 29, 2025.

This event promises to be another unforgettable evening, featuring live entertainment from The Full Motley once again in their 25th Anniversary year. Joining them will be a special collaboration by Liza Hartley, Valerie's granddaughter in-law, and Alana Turnbull, whose performances will enrich the night with their unique talents. Additionally, Raw Entertainment will provide background music and serve as the event's emcee, ensuring a lively and engaging atmosphere. True to The Full Motley's tradition, we'll have talented young musicians performing alongside the band, celebrating the next generation of artists.

We invite everyone to join us in celebrating Valerie's life, sharing stories, and connecting with others who share her passion for life and community support. This is not just an event; it's a gathering of hearts, a chance to honour a beautiful soul, and an opportunity to contribute to vital causes that continue to support those affected by cancer.
