The pub features a unique marble-tile floor with the Cathedral’s old heating system and a “Horsebox” bar known as a “Ladies Snug” from a time when pubs were male-only. This was also reputedly used by Sir Winston Churchill and Dwight Eisenhower during the planning of D-Day landings back in 1944!
The Haunch of Venison also showcases some rare architectural and beverage features, such as pewter bar tops, one of 6 in the country, and gravity-fed spirit taps, only 5 left in the UK!
