The Wyvern Theatre in Swindon in the North of Wiltshire has been entertaining audiences with a broad-range of productions for more than forty years. In South Wiltshire, head to the Salisbury Playhouse - one of the UK’s leading producing theatres. Salisbury is a traditional and original city, so its fitting that Salisbury Playhouse offers both classic and contemporary plays throughout the year, as well as musicals and children’s theatre and their ever-popular pantomime at Christmas.
Art Centres and Performance Venues in Wiltshire
There are many places to catch plays and performances in Wiltshire - with lots of arts centres and performance venues as well as the theatres! In Corsham, you'll find The Pound arts centre, a vibrant and welcoming venue with a 100-seater auditorium and a busy programme of theatre to suit all tastes. At Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford on Avon, there are regular storytelling performances for children plus 'as live' screenings of ballet, musicals and opera. Salisbury Arts Centre, based in a beautiful deconsecrated church building, is home to a busy programme of art, including theatre for adults and children.
