Fairytales come alive at The Festival of Light
Longleat’s Festival of Light will be in full flow from 5 November. This year you can expect to see many well-known fairytales being bought to life. The magical and unmissable experience is an excellent day out for all the family, and will get you all into Christmas spirit. The event is extremely popular so make sure you book your tickets in advance here.
Get ready for Christmas
Tis’ the season to be jolly! Christmas is coming and we can’t wait. The ever-so-popular Salisbury Christmas Market will be back from 23 November – 22 December. The authentic German market-style wooden chalets will see the return of many award-winning exhibitors and goods. Theatres across the county will be featuring Christmas plays and pantomimes, Stately homes will be decorating their rooms for Christmas, and there will be lots of seasonal events to enjoy. Experience a romantic ‘The Holiday’ style getaway at one of our country cottages
The Holiday, starring Kate Winslet and Jude Law, is a Christmas favourite and gets you in the mood for the Christmas festivities ahead. The countryside cottage in the film is reminiscent of some of our own picture perfect cottages in the county. Spoiler alert the cottage was made on set, so here are some alternatives!
Troutbeck Guest House in East Chisenbury is in a rural English countryside location, with luxurious furnishings and bathtub that is every bit as beautiful to the one in the film. It’s a great place for a timeless winter escape.
