Oh how we love spring, it’s so beautiful to see the blossoms appearing on the trees, the daffodils popping out along the verges and the bluebells begin to emerge in our woodlands.
We’ve put together a selection of some of our favourite spring photos that we have here at VisitWiltshire, we hope you enjoy them!
Daffodils in abundance
Wilton’s Kingsbury Square and the area around the A30 as it passes through the town often sees carpets of daffodils.
Likewise, see corners of Bradford on Avon brighten up with these pretty flowers.
Spot our wildflowers
Some of Wiltshire’s wildflowers appear during the spring months including the display of fritillaries at North Meadow Nature Reserve, Cricklade (usually in April), the wildflower meadows of Lower Moor Farm and other wildflowers like the protected Cowslips in our meadows and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
See our woodlands become awash with colour
During late April to May our woodlands often come to life with the blues and purples of our bluebells. Popular locations to find them include West Woods, Marlborough and Grovely Woods, near Wilton. Check out our blog on top places to spot bluebells for some other locations around the county.
Head to some of our gardens
From the formal gardens of Bowood through to the Italianate design of the Peto Garden at Iford Manor there will be plenty of colours to see on a spring visit. Many of our gardens open their doors (or should that be gates?) at the beginning of spring.
Rest your weary feet
Find somewhere to rest after a busy day’s exploring. Whether that be in one of our country pubs like the Bath Arms in Horningsham (pictured below) or at one of our accommodation providers. Check out our spring breaks for special offers on places to stay.
