Are you looking for things to do with your little ones over the February Half Term? We’ve put together ten half term suggestions within Wiltshire that are family-friendly:
1. See if you can catch the Gingerbread Man
Make a trip to Roves Farm, in Sevenhampton and see the classic story of the Gingerbread Man brought to life with a twist. In addition to this there will be scarecrow activities and lots of cute, little animals to meet!
2. Head to the theatre
Check out Salisbury Playhouse for some family-friendly productions this Half Term including Oliver Twist and Rumpelstiltskin.
3. Hire a canoe and explore the Kennet & Avon Canal
Hire a canoe from Towpath Trail in Bradford on Avon and take to the water on the Kennet & Avon Canal. If the water doesn’t float your boat then you can hire bikes from the centre instead!
4. Take part in a Teddy Bears’ Picnic
Bring your teddy along to Salisbury Cathedral for a Teddy Bears' Picnic. Take part in the Fab Food Hunt and join in with some clay sessions.
5. Solve clues on a Wiltshire Treasure Trail
Practice your puzzle-solving skills on a Wiltshire Treasure Trail. There are lots of trails to choose from at a variety of towns and villages across the county. A great way to get the family out and about and putting their thinking caps on!
6. Enjoy a great day out at Longleat
The gates of Longleat open from early February – come along to see the lions, penguins, tigers and much more on a visit here! Take the Safari Boat out onto the lake and spot the hippos and get up close and personal to some creepy-crawlies in Animal Kingdom.
7. Hone your horse riding skills at Rein and Shine
Take to the saddle at Rein and Shine and improve your horse riding skills. The centre also offers beginner’s lessons.
8. Learn to juggle at The Salisbury Museum
Learn how to juggle and hone your circus skills on a Discovery Day Circus Workshop at The Salisbury Museum on 16 February.
9. Crack the codes at Salisbury Escape Room
Great for teenagers upwards, see if you can crack the codes to solve the Murder at the Museum-themed escape room. Do you have what it takes to make your escape within an hour?
10. Check out the latest films at Odeon Trowbridge
Perfect for rainy days, check out the Odeon Trowbridge for the latest screenings. Alongside the cinema you’ll find a variety of places to eat too.
