Pound Arts proudly presents 100 Years of Silents. In partnership with South West Silents, we're showing three all-time-classic silent films that turn 100 years old in 2023. Each screening is accompanied by a live piano score, performed by BFI South Bank's resident pianist Meg Morley, to help transport you back to 1923.
Salome, the daughter of Herodias, seduces her step-father/uncle Herod, governor of Judea, with a salacious dance. In return, he promises her the head of the prophet John the Baptist.
This screening will be accompanied by a live musical score, performed by BFI Southbank's resident pianist Meg Morley. Since performing for her first silent film in 2016, Meg Morley has quickly become one of the UK's pre-eminent silent film accompanists, performing at various international film festivals and playing regularly at the London Cinema Museum.
