About
A fantastic new Exhibition taking place between 19th April to 5th May, open 11am to 6pm (everyday except Mondays).
We are excited to welcome local artist Rachel Heard for her upcoming exhibition of original paintings inspired by walks in the local countryside.
Bewitched by the reflections of light on the surface of the water, induced to quiet contemplation, moments of
feeling immersed in nature and being at one with the surroundings, her paintings, Rachel hopes "not only address literal reflection but also the metaphorical interpretation, and a process of introspection in the context of nature".
We hope you can join us in the Gallery @ No 56 to immerse yourself in her calm, beautiful and enchanting works.
Prices start from £50 for drawings, with paintings ranging between £300 and £3000.
Having grown up in rural Wiltshire, Rachel Heard is an artist whose work is deeply influenced by her profound
connection to nature. With a BA Hons in Art and Aesthetics from UWIC, gained in 2003, Rachel has gone on to
exhibit in group shows and solo exhibitions, with collectors all over the world. Her work is included in the
permanent collections of Wiltshire and Chippenham museums. She has been artist in residence at The Pound Arts
Centre in Corsham since 2019, and has recently moved to a larger studio, deep in the countryside in nearby
Slaughterford. Immersed in the sights, sounds and textures of the natural world, Rachel's creations often reflect the fluidity and harmony found in organic patterns. Rachel's art invites viewers to contemplate the interconnectedness of all living things and to appreciate the intricate beauty that surrounds us Rachel also works as a community artist, running workshops for several local charities and organizations. This helps solidify her practice, in demonstrating the positive.
