About
Larkhill Choral Society’s early summer concert titled “I Was Glad” is the first with our new musical director Simon Irwin. Our program includes some glorious English and a German choral music. Highlights include “I was there” by Parry, “Achieved is the Glorious Work” by Haydn, and “I waited for the Lord” by Mendelssohn.
Musical Director, Simon, comes to us with a wealth of experience as a musical director and performer. Simon sings as a Lay Clerk in Winchester Cathedral so has an in depth knowledge of traditional choral music. He is also musical director to two other choirs in the South of England as well as singing as a freelance tenor.
As usual we will be offering a complimentary buffet during the interval and wine and soft drinks are available to purchase.
Larkhill Choral Society is a friendly choral society that is growing in size and we welcome new members. Most choir members have had some singing experience in the past e.g. in a school or church choir however there is no audition to join us. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings and should you wish to try us out your first two sessions are complimentary.
