About
Step back in time to the industrial age of steam in Wiltshire. The 1812 Boulton and Watt Beam Engine at Crofton will be in steam again on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 September 2021. This will be the last open weekend of the summer season.
There is a charge to enter the site on steaming days. Crofton operates an on-line booking system with Art Tickets (from Art Fund, supporting museums and art galleries across the UK). Advance purchase of timed tickets to the site is recommended for Steaming Days. The August weekend was VERY busy. A pre-paid ticket avoids disappointment. Bookings via the Crofton website https://www.croftonbeamengines.org/events/ or telephone 01672 870300.
Guide price 'standard' adult £10.75 for (£12 with Gift Aid). Accompanied children under 16 are free. Discounts for Kennet and Avon Canal Trust Members and National Art Pass Holders on Steaming Days.
Please remember that the café is closed, and that public access to the site is by the main gate only. No access from the lower canal entrance at lock 60. This helps Crofton's team of hard-working volunteers and staff regulate visitor numbers to the site and keep COVID safe.
