Family-Friendly Christmas Events in Wiltshire

For a magical Christmas experience in Wiltshire that the whole family will enjoy, there are lots of festive options to choose from.

This year, Longleat's Festival of Light returns with an even more spectacular display! Turn back the clock and travel the world as you journey through time at The Festival of Light this Christmas. Explore more immersive and interactive lanterns than ever before as you discover a historical wonderland brought to life, with scenes from the Ice Age, Vikings, Ancient dynasties, monarchs and more!

Christmas at Stourhead is one to see this festive season, with a magical after-dark trail once again lighting up the magnificent National Trust gardens. There's also a spectacular Christmas illuminated trail taking place at Westonbirt, with Westonbirt Enchanted Christmas!

Christmas often isn’t complete without a festive trip to the theatre! Look out for Salisbury Playhouse annual performances, and be sure to keep an eye out on our What's On pages for a selection of family-friendly festive theatre taking place in Wiltshire.

Christmas with National Trust

National Trust places in Wiltshire are full of warmth and sparkle this Christmas, with everything from craft workshops and family trails to winter lights and visits from Father Christmas. Visit Avebury this December for decorations across the site and lots of festive events and activities, including festive story telling from traditional, green-cloaked St.Nicholas! Visit Stourhead to see the house full of festive floral arrangements and showstopping trees, or visit after dark for the spectacular annual light display.

Lacock will also be brimming with twinkling trees as well as willow reindeer and a north pole post box for all your Christmas wishes. Mompesson House in Salisbury has a magical fairytale theme and Avebury will be hosting Christmas markets, winter archaeology walks and Father Christmas himself.
