About
In a heart-warming and poignant adaptation of Michelle Magorian's beloved novel, Chippenham Youth Theatre brings Goodnight Mister Tom to life on stage. Set against the backdrop of World War II, this moving production tells the story of young William Beech, an evacuee from London, who is sent to the countryside to escape the Blitz. There he finds an unexpected home with the reclusive but kind-hearted Tom Oakley. As their bond grows, William discovers friendship, love, and a sense of belonging he has never known before.
This special performance marks the 80th anniversary of VE Day, celebrating the resilience and courage of those who lived through the war. With a talented young cast, evocative staging, and a story that continues to resonate across generations, Goodnight Mister Tom is a powerful tribute to the enduring spirit of hope and kindness in times of adversity.
