Beginners six week pastel workshop

Learn how to use soft pastel and try the wide variety of techniques and papers with me in my studio. Small groups of max 6. I will give demos and plenty of individual guidance throughout. Suitable for beginners to art, pastel improvers and fellow artists who'd like to try this medium for the first time. I use artists quality pastels and papers for their excellent results.
Each of the 6 weeks we will look at different techniques and subjects for example to practice blending we will work on an inspiring sky study. I will give you basic colour theory tuition as well as landscape and still life compositions to work on.
Also during the 6 sessions I shall introduce you to the history of pastels, their production and look at the variety of styles possible with this versatile medium.
This 6 week course will give you all the confidence and skills to continue on any of the wide choice of workshops available either in my studio or at Wildfire Barn in Wilsford.
The price of £450 includes 6 weekly sessions of 3 hours each, a set of 36 Unison Colour soft pastels, a Unison Colour fixative spray, an A3 spiral bound sketchbook, all specialist pastel papers used, tea/coffee/biscuits and individual guidance on how to develop your work further.
Course dates are; Tuesday evenings from 6-9pm from 3rd September until 8th October or Saturday mornings from 10-1pm 7th September until 12th October.
