A flower arranger at Salisbury Cathedral
Funny enough, I started learning ikebana in UK (not in Japan!) as a complete beginner. I was lucky to learn ikebana from a Japanese student at Southampton University where I was working as a lecturer. I was a keen gardener and wanted to arrange flowers using the garden plants and flowers. I am still fascinated by the simplicity and beauty of Ikebana designs – arranging the way the plants/flowers speak to you.
I wish many people to have such enchanting experiences of connecting with the nature through Ikebana.
