With three central shopping centres (Cross Keys Arcade, The Old George Mall and the Maltings) and a wealth of independent shops, there are plenty of opportunities to pick up a great memento of your visit to Salisbury.
Look out for locally made art and crafts at Fisherton Mill gallery and be sure to take a look into the artists’ studios on the first floor too. Fisherton Mill regularly stages exhibitions featuring renowned artists, plus the on-site café is a welcome relief if all the shopping has got a bit too much!
Browse the extensive collection of whiskeys and wines at Cambridge Wine Merchants and ethical and vegan goods from Goodfayre. At Casa Fina, you will find a treasure trove of items for the home and a great selection of gift ideas for any upcoming birthdays or weddings you may have. Next door at Roly’s Fudge Shop you can see fudge being freshly prepared by the friendly staff. Sample a range of flavours, often seasonal such as the Hot Cross Bun fudge at Easter time.
The central Market Place buzzes on a Tuesday and Saturday when the historic Charter Market arrives. Here you can buy local produce, fruit and veg, clothes, food and lots more. There are also other markets throughout the year including regular farmers’ markets, vintage and artisan markets.
You will find several of the big-name stores and high street favourites here in Salisbury such as M&S, Debenhams, New Look and TK Maxx. Head to Winchester Street, Fisherton Street and the High Street for some of the city’s fabulous ‘indies’, our independent stores.
On the outskirts of the city centre there are a couple of retail parks, one which is home to a large Waitrose Food & Home store, Sports Direct, Smyths Toy Superstore and Home Sense (just off Churchill Way West) and the other along the Southampton Road (A36) which has The Range, Next, Matalan, DFS, Home Bargains and Pets at Home (plus many others).
Plus, just three miles out of Salisbury you’ll find Wilton Shopping Village offering you outlet shopping in a pleasant riverside setting beside the old carpet factory.
