Take a stroll to Salisbury’s beautiful Cathedral Close and admire the grandeur of the surrounding buildings before visiting Salisbury Cathedral – if you are feeling active why not take a trip on one of the popular tower tours to find out more, and be rewarded with a most magnificent view of Salisbury from high. Follow this with a visit to the multi-awarding winning Salisbury Museum to discover more about the history of this medieval city.
A walk through the Close will take you on a circular route to the south of the city around Harnham and back along the footpath, past the Old Mill, through the historic water meadows. With stunning views across to the Cathedral you will return through one of the many relaxing parks and open spaces – Queen Elizabeth Gardens.
In addition to our colourful Christmas Market, Salisbury holds it’s traditional and vibrant Charter Market in the central Market Place each Tuesday and Saturday which incorporates a local Farmers’ Market too.
Discover some Christmas offers on places to stay and make a break of it.
Why not find out more about this medieval city by taking part in a guided walk with Salisbury City Guides that leaves Salisbury Information Centre in Fish Row every Saturday and Sunday at 11am.
