Where can you fish in Wiltshire?

There are several locations where you can fish in Wiltshire including on more than 70 of the lakes at the Cotswold Water Park on the Wiltshire/Gloucestershire border, where you’ll find a variety of facilities including tackle shops, cafes and both coarse and fly fishing.

In the heart of the Vale of Pewsey, you’ll find Manningford Trout Fishery with brown and rainbow trout and two miles of single bank fishing along the River Avon.

Near Westbury there’s Cuckoos Rest Fishing Lake with on-site camping and also fishing at White Horse Country Park (overlooking the Westbury White Horse).

In Durrington, there’s Avon Springs Fly Fishing Lakes and at Hanging Langford, anglers can fish on one of the lakes at Langford Lakes nature reserve, where Wiltshire Wildlife Trust operates catch and release fishing.

Crossing the heart of Wiltshire, the Kennet & Avon Canal provides opportunities for fishing, with many of the fishing rights belonging to local fisheries or angling clubs. It’s worth contacting the local angling clubs within the county for further details on fishing opportunities.

For fishing with a very historic setting, Longleat offers coarse fishing on five of its lakes on the wider Longleat Estate including the popular Shearwater Lake.
